Droid Technologies designed and developed a 1 kW DC smart charging device for connected charging infrastructure, engineered to operate both as an individual charger node and as a communication hub within a large network of chargers.
The device is built around a custom NXP i.MX8-based module developed by Droid Technologies and combines charging control, high-speed networking, wireless connectivity, and distributed system communication in a single platform. With 1 Gbit Ethernet, the charger can be integrated into large-scale networked charging systems, while LTE Cat 4, Wi‑Fi, and BLE provide additional connectivity and service access options.
Droid Technologies delivered hardware design, custom compute module development, PCB design, embedded firmware and software development, connectivity integration, power electronics integration, and full system validation.
